As part of the exhibition project DISPLA(Y)CED it is our intention to temporarily present formal, aesthetic and contentual examinations of the themes „display“ and „displace“ as billboard-sized posters within the city of Dresden.
DISPLA(Y)CED is meant to use urban outdoor space as a projection surface for contemporary art. Being displayed in an urban space, the pieces will be accessible to and receivable for everyone and thus force social contemplation and unconventional awareness of artistic strategies. With their billboard size they will exercise a visual influence on everyday life in Dresden and they can be interpreted as discontinuity, brightener or food for thought.
Each artist can submit a maximum of 3 pieces to email@example.com the deadline is 5/15/2017. An expert panel will choose 35 works out of all submissions and these will be placed within the city limits of Dresden as billboard posters, sized 356cm x 252cm, from August 8th to August 18th 2017.
Requirement for the application is a jpg or pdf file with a resolution of 150dpi and optimized for a size of 356cm x 252cm. In addition, a preview (width 22cm / 300dpi), a short description of the piece as well as a short but meaningful résumé
The announcement of all participants will be made before 6/1/2017. We are looking forward to your submissions!
Within the scope of DISPLA(Y)CED an additional synoptic publication containing further artistic contributions and texts will be released in an eponymous exhibition from August 11th until September 3rd 2017 at the Galerie der Alten Feuerwache Loschwitz.
